FIREBALL 2010
The Stonehaven Fireballs Association is hoping for a good clear evening for Hogmanay ‘09/10 as there will be a full moon that night. It should add an extra little piece of magic on what is a very special night. The regular features for the pre-event entertainment to the Fireball Ceremony are planned to happen as usual – the pipe band & the drumming group. Unfortunatly the popular fire poi troupe will not be taking part.
The DVD duo pack that the Stonehaven Fireball Association made has been selling very well but is still available for £15.00. It can be obtained from The Shell Hoosie at the harbour,The 2009/10 brochure ‘Stonehaven’s Hogmanay Festival ‘9/10‘ will be on the night from various spots as you make you way to the High Street. It will allso be available at the Open Air In The Square. A donation is appreciated - £1 - £2 or £5.00 all will be acceptable.
Remember - you can only see this event on this night at this time each year. It is unique. - Worth a fiver at least!
All that you see happening throughout the evening, either in the High Street or in the Square is created by volunteers - nobody is paid for their time.
As usual volunteers are always required for marshalling on New Year Eve. The amazing support that the local community give the event every year in the turnout of marshals in always very encouraging and without them the event could not go ahead. It is a great way to get a good view of the event (maybe a little too close for some!) and enjoy celebrating Hogmanay with a huge number of people, a chance to get involved in a unique local event or an excuse not to have to go to visit people you can’t be bothered with!Any one wanting to help in any way can contact David Flemming on 767200, or Alan Venters on 766715.
